Endocrine Scholars Committee
Evan Simpson , chairs the Endocrine Scholars Committee that offers assistance with training programs in developing countries. The committee is working with selected ISE national endocrine societies to carry out this mandate, including Latvia, Romania, Nigeria and others.

Dick Santen has been very active in setting up a partnership program in Egypt with the University of Virginia, USA. Two people from Egypt are visiting the U. of V. for two months to receive education in establishing a Diabetic Foot service. A similar pilot scheme is underway between clinicians from Egypt and the Diabetic Foot Clinic in Penn State.
