The Society for Endocrinology was set up in 1946 to promote the advance of endocrinology; it represents scientists, clinicians and nurses who work in the specialty.
Membership is open to anyone working in an endocrine-related field anywhere in the world and at any stage in their career. Our mission is:
To advance scientific and clinical education and research in endocrinology for the public benefit.
To educate and inform the public on all aspects of endocrinology.
To attract good young scientists, doctors and nurses into endocrinology and to retain them in the discipline, in order to improve science and medicine for the public benefit.
To raise the profile and be the voice of endocrinology in the UK.
To promote and support endocrinology worldwide and to foster a sense of community, including working in collaboration with other international organisations
Education and training
The Society organises the SfE BES meeting annually; this is a major international conference delivering cutting edge science and updates in best clinical practice. In addition, there are 3 clinical training events, an endocrine nurse update and an event specifically for those with an interest in pursuing a career in scientific research in endocrinology.
