The Nigerian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (NSEM) was founded in Lagos, Nigeria in 1978 by a group of Endocrinologists. NSEM is a professional body that comprises Endocrinologists and physicians of all specialties, Surgeons, Laboratory Scientists, Biochemists, Medical microbiologists , Nurses and Medical students who are interested in Endocrinology and Metabolism and related subjects.
The mission of NSEM is committed to the dissemination of knowledge of endocrinology and metabolism through the organization of Scientific conferences and collaborative research. NSEM is also committed to raising the National awareness of diabetes mellitus- a significant non-communicable disease and the commonest metabolic disorder in Nigeria. NSEM is involved in the promotion of diabetes care and its prevention. |
